2019 SEATTLE CHAPTER BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Our Seattle Chapter was chartered in 2009 by a dedicated group of hospitality professionals in Seattle who wanted to bring this Hospitality Education association to Washington. Each year a volunteer Board of Directors is elected from our membership. Fulfilling several distinct roles and with the assistance of the National HSMAI organization, the board works to bring the best value for our members to the chapter. This includes planning 5-7 educational events per year plus networking opportunities, hospitality student mentorship, philanthropy and awards and recognition for our industry stars.
Jennifer Walker brings over 16 years of travel industry experience in the field of Revenue and Reservations Management. Currently a Regional Director of Revenue Management with Pineapple Hospitality, Jennifer has been an integral part in the formation of the HSMAI Seattle chapter and was the recipient of the 2013 Washington State Revenue Manager of the Year Award. Sawyer began his career in travel working as a Tour Guide for Rick Steves’ Europe and organized tours through five European countries. In 2015 he found his way to Expedia where he began as a market associate before being promoted to Market Manager a year later. Abby has a diverse resume leading up to her current position as Market Manager at Expedia. She majored in Sports Marketing and quickly put her marketing skills to work in various roles before landing in a sales role for the Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau. She is passionate about event planning and public speaking and brings her organizational skills to her role on our board. Allison Lakomski started her hospitality industry career as a Front Desk agent at the coolest property, The Queen Mary. Having earned her bachelors in Hospitality Management at CSU Long Beach, she quickly moved into sales as a Group Rooms Coordinator and then found Revenue Management with Evolution Hospitality. Currently Allison is the Senior Account Manager in Seattle for Booking.com. Self-described as Driven, Ambitious, Proactive, Silly, Honest, and Kind she is a great addition to the 2019 board. Sonya has 13+ years in hospitality including building her career at Expedia and is currently the Pacific Northwest Market Manager for Hotwire.com. She is certified in Hotel Revenue Management from Cornell University. Travel is not only a full time part of her job but also a life passion and she loves the partnerships and relationships she has been able to build across the country. Rhocellie is a seasoned hospitality marketer with an extensive background in digital marketing, branding and renovation projects totaling $30 million. She began her hospitality career in Social Media and Reputation Management with JC Resorts and moved to Seattle in 2017 as Director of Marketing for Motif. Originally born is South Africa, Tamsin is very passionate about traveling and meeting new people. She has lived in 3 different continents, 4 different countries and 13 different cities. She started in sales at an early age and joined the hospitality industry 5 years ago at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach. She moved to Seattle in 2016 as the Transient Sales Manager for Hotel 1000. A consummate sales professional, Jill has over 20 years of experience in Sales and Event planning. Working her way up with such name brands as Microsoft, Marriott and Hilton, Jill has fine-tuned her sales approach and now serves as A Worldwide Sales Account Development Manager for Best Western International. Jill is passionate about the importance in sales of building a personal brand through cultivating relationships and continuing to learn and grow at every opportunity. Richard Oh brings over 16 years of direct sales and operations experience in Seattle to our board. Currently the Regional Director of Sales for Coast Hotels, his career has included positions such as Sales & Catering, Accounting, and General Manager with companies such as Holiday Inn, Marriott and Warwick International. In her 25+ years in hospitality, Jenny Moore has held Revenue Management Leadership roles in Aspen, Denver, San Francisco and Seattle. She currently serves as the Corporate Director of Revenue Strategy for Noble House Hotels & Resorts. Prior to settling into a corporate position, Jenny spent six years roaming the country as a freelance Revenue Management Consultant; where she specialized in company transitions and opening new hotels as well as hiring and training new Revenue Managers.
